MEMBRANOPHONES

MEMBRANOPHONES

TIMPANI by María Pastor Mier – 1ºB

Timpani are percussion instruments. They are membraphones because they are made of skin and they are played with sticks or beaters.

They are cylindrical drums of a single patch with metal frames and are easy to carry.

The most important is that they can be tuned to different pitches, for this reason they are instruments with definite pitch.

DRUMS by Juan Pedraza Gómez – 1ºB

Drums are percussion instruments. The real name is drum kit, but everybody calls it, drums. Drums consist of different instruments like side drum, bass drum and cymbals. For this reason they are idiophone and membranophone instruments.

They are non-pitched instruments because they produce indefinite pitch sounds. They are played with sticks and pedals.
